Railway women retain National T-20 title

Railways retained the Senior Women’s T-20 cricket title, trouncing Delhi by seven wickets in the final at Ravenshaw University ground here today.
Sulakshana Naik starred in the triumph, hitting an unbeaten 46 and taking two catches behind the stumps. Her 43-ball knock included four boundaries and one six.

Railways and Delhi qualified for the title clash after emerging group toppers here today. Host Odisha finished fourth with eight points in Group-A, winning two matches and losing the other two. Led by Priyanka Priyadarshini Sahu, Odisha lost their first and third match against Maharashtra and Delhi respectively, while they beat UP and Karnataka in the second and last game respectively.

Among notable Odisha performers, Madhuri Meheta hit an unbeaten 34 against UP and 40 against Karnataka; Swagatika Rath slammed 50 vs Maharashtra; Kadambini Mahakud hit an unbeaten 26 vs UP, Madhusmita Behera made 25 vs Delhi, while Roshnara Parwin bagged five wickets vs UP and two vs Maharashtra.
